NoNOISE is the most effective audio toolbox available for removing pops, unwanted transients and distortion. NoNOISE is preferred by digital audio engineers because they need the absolute control and powerful capabilities it offers. It's also demanded by forensic engineers for reconstructing black box and phone conversations because it offers better noise reduction and lower loss in fidelity.

Reflecting the groundbreaking nature and industry value of the product, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized NoNOISE for its use in reviving tens of thousands of motion picture and television sound tracks and audio recordings around the world with an Emmy Award for outstanding technical achievement. Discriminating engineers rely on NoNOISE, the international de facto standard for restoration.

Why NoNOISE II from Sonic Studio

Unlike old versions of NoNOISE licensed for other platforms, NoNOISE II is an improved version of the original, award winning suite of options for SonicStudio HD and the Sonic System. No other product provides the transparency and optimized workflow of NoNOISE II. The exclusive SSE™ engine insures optimal repairs without further audible degradation while true stereo operation and multitasking features allow for streamlined time savings. The SSE engine performs all processing with double precision, resulting in less quantization noise, no timbral shifts and dramatically lower distortion and artifacts.

Broadband DeNoise native™

Overview

The Broadband DeNoise option, a part of the NoNOISE II restoration suite, is designed to address audio contamination from broadband or wideband noise sources. Whether the problems are electrical or acoustical, the Broadband DeNoise module can vastly improve perceived fidelity and provide a quiet, more uniform noise floor to your recordings without objectionable artifacts or any shift in timbre or room tone.

Some impairments that Broadband DeNoise addresses include:

• modulation and asperity noise on analog magnetic recordings

• obtrusive grain–induced noise in optical motion picture soundtracks

• Johnson noise in analog signal chains

• acoustical noises from engines, HVAC units, wind, water, insects & other sources

• colorless suppression of excessive reverberation

Details

The Broadband DeNoise option is available in a native version for soundBlade. This is a real–time, foreground, user–directed mono or stereo tool. Broadband DeNoise is fully adjustable, which allows for fine control of the restoration process. The Broadband DeNoise process can also be run with default settings for cost–constrained, time–critical jobs or as a “black box,” real–time flow–through processor.

The Broadband DeNoise native option can be purchased as part of the NoNOISE II package, an option for soundBlade.

Manual DeClick

Overview

Another module in the NoNOISE II suite, the Manual DeClick II tool is also available for soundBlade and PreMaster CD 2. It’s no accident that Manual DeClick is the preferred surgical restoration tool of high profile content producers. Unlike the “Pencil” tools available in many products which only operates in the time domain, the Manual DeClick toolset operates intelligently in the frequency domain, where seamless repairs are assured.

Details

The Manual DeClick toolset provides a variety of optimized modes for focused reconstruction of damaged samples. It also has a general, broadly capable setting when time or budgetary constraints dictate a rapid, global repair. The five repair choices are all proprietary resynthesis algorithms that operate on audio in the frequency domain though the user interface displays a traditional time–based “timeline.”

The setting include:

• Type A — Period or harmonic spectral content
• Type B — Non–harmonic or mixed spectral content
• Type C — Period or harmonic spectral content with validated repair
• Type D — Timbrally–matched content, optimized for voice
• Type E — Broad spectrum content, distortion reduction

Though the A through D Type DeClickers are designed to operate on time–limited regions of a sound file, the Type E DeCrackler can operate on any length or duration of material, an entire program or just a short, over–modulated passage. The depth of repair is adjustable, allowing you to tailor the repair to the needs of each job.
