  • Sonic EQ ::

    With millions of CD releases to prove the worth of Sonic Studio’s exclusive minimal phase EQ…

    Sonic EQ in the Series 300

    The Series 300 not only offers a raft of exceptional features but includes a new version of Sonic Studio’s “Classic” Sonic EQ running in the extended precision +DSP environment.

    More Than A DSP Baker’s Dozen

    Sonic EQ provides more than 16 individual equalization functions, including;

    • 1st through 4th order fully parametric filter with 5 interactive controls
    • 1st through 4th order high & low shelving filter with 4 interactive controls
    • RIAA emphasis & deemphasis filters
    • high & low bandpass filter with 4 interactive controls
    • high & low bandstop filter with 4 interactive controls
    • digital deemphasis for AES/EBU 44.1 kHz
    • infinite notch filter
    • DC removal function

    These are “minimal phase” topologies, providing the lowest possible group delay in an IIR filter, which offers the sound of the finest traditional analog EQ without the excessive processing delay and pre–echo of FIR filters.

    Specific Filters For Specific Functions

    Sonic EQ
    In keeping with Sonic Studio’s heritage of industry–leading mastering and restoration, the filters in Sonic EQ are designed for sweetening, restoration and remastering. The multi–order shelving filters add broad lift or cut where color change is needed while the multi–order parametric can gently supplement an anemic instrumental or surgically remove an intrusive aspect of a recording.

    RIIA filter
    The RIAA filters let you bypass sloppy analog RIAA networks and apply a precise digital implementation with low phase shift. The notch and pandpass/bandstop filters are both designed for uncluttering problematic program while the DC removal filter will eliminate subsonic content that robs headroom and may damage LF transducers.
