Your Pro Tools system is ready for DVD-Audio but, increasingly, SACD capabilities are needed to stay competitive. SACDs — Sweet & Secure

DSD is the native file format for SACDs or Super Audio CDs, the successor to the universally accepted Compact Discs from the inventors of the CD, Philips and Sony. SACDs enjoy broad acceptance by consumers and always get the nod from engineers for their exceptional fidelity. Record labels appreciate their tightly locked intellectual property protection features . Now, Pro Tools users have the ability to create multichannel DSD audio for SACD disc images and cutting masters, in-house, right out of AudioSuite.

Jump Into SACD

DSDeliver upsamples and redithers PCM audio, converting it into a DSD stream, the intermediate audio format within the SACD creation process. The DSD plug–in supports multiple sample rates and word lengths, and is installed in Pro Tools’ AudioSuite menu. Simply select the files for conversion, start the plug-in, enter an output file name, and the plug–in converts the selected PCM audio into DSD. Included in the plug–in is a CRE or compression ratio estimator, which provides a very accurate gauge of the disc image’s final size.
